Week 29 Update
Premier Division update
Clowne Liberal secured their first win of the season with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Alfreton SC ‘A,’ who suffered their second consecutive defeat as the season reaches its crucial stage.
This result presents an opportunity for Welcome Institute, who delivered a dominant performance in their rescheduled match against Hasland ‘A.’ The standout moment came from Ash Walker, who produced a stunning 94 break in the opening frame against Andrew Bingham—the highest break of the week.
Jonathan Hall of Brotherhood also impressed, crafting an excellent 88 break against Dave Pagett. However, it was a lone highlight for Brotherhood, as they fell 4-1 to the league leaders.

Division Three update
Remarkably, the gap between first and sixth place has narrowed to just four points. Sixth-placed New Whittington ‘A’ could be forgiven for believing they have a shot at the title, especially after a composed 4-1 victory over Lennons ‘I’.
Congratulations to Brotherhood ‘D’s Andrew Bailey for his impressive 48 break against Clowne captain Simon Furniss—his second 40+ break of the season. However, it falls just short of Lewis Longden’s 50, which remains the benchmark.
Congratulations to Doe Lea’s Robert Wragsdale as he regains the top spot in the players standings. As we near the end of the campaign, good luck to all those players bidding to get into the top 8 and book themselves a place in the end of seasonal divisional masters.
With Alfreton, Clowne, and Lennons all locked on 55 points, Doe Lea have edged into top spot following a dominant 5-0 win over Newbold CA ‘B.’ As the season nears its climax, can any of these teams break away from the pack?

Division Four update
There’s still nothing in it between Newbold CA ‘C’, Lennons ‘G’ and Brotherhood ‘E’ as they fight it out for the play-off promotion place, though Newbold hold the slight edge as they have a game in hand over their rivals.
Meanwhile, Brotherhood ‘F’ could seal the title next week. Can they do it three matches before the end of the season?

Competition Results
It was a rollercoaster week for Alfreton’s Ian Rose. After suffering defeats in both his league match and Handicap quarter-final, he entered the Premier quarter-final against Welcome’s Adam Clift seemingly low on confidence. However, that wasn’t evident in his performance, as he immediately took control, producing a solid 41 break in the opening frame. Rose then secured the second frame, putting himself just one away from the semi-finals.
Clift fought back and looked poised to take the third frame when the match was abruptly halted—the club had to be evacuated due to a nearby fire in town.
Twenty-four hours later, with the balls left exactly as they were, play resumed. Clift managed to close the gap to 2-1, but Rose remained composed, sealing the victory to book his place in the semi-finals. Well done, Ian!
In the Harry Anderson, Alfreton’s Steve Donner looked unstoppable as he stormed into a 2-0 lead in just 25 minutes, firing in breaks of 50, 44, and 33. But Newbold’s Gary Scott wasn’t going down without a fight. Digging deep, he played some gritty match snooker to complete a stunning comeback, defeating one of the season’s standout players to reach the semi-finals in his debut season. A fantastic achievement—well done, Gary!
Meanwhile, despite an impressive win in the Handicap, John Roseman’s hopes of reaching another Geoff Hardy final were ended by the ever-improving Paul Sainsbury.
