Week 13 Report
Premier Division Report
League leaders Alfreton ‘A’ experienced their first defeat of the season, creating an opportunity for both Lennons ‘H’ and the Welcome Institute to narrow the points gap. Alfreton’s 4-1 loss to Lennons opened the door for the Welcome Institute to take advantage with a strong result against Hasland Club ‘A.’ However, they fell short of fully capitalizing, managing only a 3-2 win, reducing the gap by just one point.
Division One Review
Division One saw two dominant whitewashes this week. League leaders New Whitt ‘B’ cruised to a 5-0 victory over struggling Brotherhood ‘B’. However, the more unexpected clean sweep came from Alfreton ‘G’, who stunned league veterans Lennons SC ‘A’ with a 5-0 win. The match was far from straightforward, with a marathon 70-minute opening frame finally secured by Geoff Hardy champion Alex Radford. This emphatic result saw Alfreton ‘G’ leapfrog Lennons to claim third place in the standings.
Alfreton ‘D’ also saw their prospects grow as they produced an impressive 3-2 win over Newbold CA ‘A’. Matt Edwards producing a steady 38 break against in-form Steve Goodwin.
Division Two Action
Brotherhood ‘C’ are enjoying a strong run of form, securing an impressive 14 out of 15 points from their last three matches to solidify their position at the top of the table. Star player John Roseman continues to shine, remaining unbeaten in the players' standings with consistently stellar performances.
Meanwhile, Hasland Club ‘C’ delivered a commanding 4-1 victory over their clubmates, Hasland ‘B’. This emphatic result keeps the C team firmly in the hunt for a top-two finish and strengthens their promotion hopes.
Division Three Update
Lennons ‘I’ continued their recent slump in form with a heavy 4-1 defeat to Doe Lea ‘A’, who notched their third consecutive victory. However, there was a bright spot for the young Lennons side, as Lewis Longden delivered the highest break of the week across all leagues and competitions—a superb half-century that surpasses his previous Division Three best of 43.
Meanwhile, Alfreton ‘F’ extended their remarkable winning streak to 10 matches, cementing their place at the top of the division. The question remains—can they keep this incredible run alive? Brotherhood ‘D’, with a solid 4-1 win, have drawn level on points with Alfreton, adding even more intrigue to this tightly contested race.
Division Four Report
Newbold WMC ‘B’ secured their first win of the season in a tightly fought match against fellow basement battlers Lennons ‘J’.
Brotherhood ‘G’ claimed four valuable points in their clash with Newbold CA ‘C’. Victories by Glynn Dobb, Rob Ward, Steve Smith, and Ash Conners propelled the Clay Cross side to within two points of second place. Meanwhile, a win for Newbold captain Geoff McCleavy kept him neck-and-neck with Michael Elliott at the top of the players’ standings.
While Brotherhood ‘F’ appear to be running away with Division Four, the race for the playoff spots remains wide open. With just two points separating second and fifth place, several teams are still in contention for a postseason play-off.
