The Alfreton SC Grand Masters witnessed a showdown between two seasoned players, Andrew Frisby and Jonathan Hall, both representing the same club and eager to clinch their maiden victory in the over 50’s competition.

Entering the final, both contenders were riding high on their recent successes in the Chesterfield & District Snooker League. Andrew had made waves with multiple semi-final appearances, while Jonathan secured a commendable runner-up position in the Romley Open.

As the opening frame got underway, Jonathan displayed early dominance, sinking some exquisite shots to seize a 1-0 lead over his clubmate from YM Brotherhood. However, Andrew's resilience shone through in the second frame, showcasing his trademark precision and steady potting to level the score. This would be the first frame that Hall had conceded throughout the whole competition.

The third frame saw Hall regain his momentum, but Frisby fought back once more, ensuring the match was deadlocked heading into the decisive frame.

In a tense finale, both players had their opportunities, but it was Frisby who faltered at crucial moments, allowing Hall to capitalise. With a composed 34-break, Hall sealed the victory, clinching the Grand Masters title and adding another illustrious achievement to his distinguished career in the league.
