Johnson tops Junior Competition.
Jack ends junior stint with a win
Alfreton SC hosted the reformed junior competition, featuring both established and aspiring players from the Chesterfield & District Snooker league. This open tournament showcased the talent of emerging league players, many of whom actively engage in coaching programs through their respective clubs, demonstrating significant improvement through dedicated practice.
Among the contenders, Jack Johnson of Lennons SC stood out. This marked his final appearance in the junior event before transitioning to senior competitions next season. Johnson's stellar performance served as a benchmark for his younger counterparts, ultimately leading him to clinch the victory. However, his journey to triumph was not without its challenges, notably facing a tough match against Riley Neale in the opening round.
A special acknowledgment is deserved for Jack's opponent in the final, Kai Hopkins, who began playing snooker just 12 months ago. I was not only impressed by his performance across all three matches but also by his exemplary conduct. Hopkins displayed impeccable snooker etiquette and remarkable sportsmanship, a quality that was evident among all the young players, which was particularly gratifying to witness.

Throughout the majority of this season, Jack has been a standout performer for Lennons SC 'J' in the league's fifth tier. His consistent performance has led to several quarter-final appearances and propelled him to the fourth position in the players' standings. This impressive achievement has secured him a spot in the upcoming Division 4 Masters Competition, where he aims to add more silverware to his collection. Congratulations on a super season jack!
