Bolton victorious in the Harry Anderson Memorial Trophy

Proud sponsor, Archie Anderson congratulates Dave on his win.

Last night at Lennons SC, the 4th Harry Anderson Memorial Trophy, sponsored by Archie Anderson, honoured the memory of his son. Ian Rose of Alfreton SC and Dave Bolton of the Welcome Institute, both esteemed members of the Chesterfield & District Snooker League, contested for the title.

In the opening frame, Bolton surged ahead with a composed break of 33, seizing the advantage early on. Despite initial setbacks, Rose rallied in the second frame, showcasing resilience to even the score at 1-1.

The third frame unfolded as a gritty exchange, marked by missed opportunities from both players. Bolton demonstrated a superior grasp of safety play, often leaving Rose tangled up near the baulk end. Despite Rose's adept escapes, Bolton managed to edge ahead once more.

The following frame witnessed another tight contest, with only the colours remaining. Bolton maintained a slender lead and poised himself for victory. However, Rose, fuelled by determination, engineered a dramatic turnaround, fluking the blue and sinking the pink to force a black ball shoot-out. Yet, his fortunes dwindled as an errant safety shot on the black paved the way for Bolton's triumph. With a composed pot into the yellow bag, Bolton clinched the 2024 championship title.

Dave fully deserved the victory tonight
